76ers and Nets Tangle In Big Apple
The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Monday afternoon.

The 76ers (28-16) are dealing with the ongoing absence of Joel Embiid (finger), but they're proving capable of holding their own without the star big man. Philadelphia comes into Monday's contest having won three straight games, and five of their last seven overall. Their most recent success came at the expense of the New York Knicks, which they edged by a 90-87 score Saturday night. Ben Simmons led the 76ers with 21 points, adding eight assists, seven rebounds and two steals. Josh Richardson delivered 18 points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block. Korkmaz poured in 17 points, while Harris supplied 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

The 76ers will continue without Embiid for Monday's contest. Al Horford (hand) will carry a questionable designation.

The Nets (18-23) come into this divisional battle in much poorer shape than their opponent, as they've dropped 10 of their last 12 contests overall. Their most recent stumble came against the Milwaukee Bucks, which throttled them by a 117-97 score Saturday evening. Kyrie Irving paced the Nets with 17 points, complementing them with six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Nicholas Claxton registered 14 points, six boards, one assist and three blocks. Taurean Prince furnished 13 points, two assists and one rebound. Spencer Dinwiddie managed 11 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot went for 10 points, four rebounds and one assist.

The Nets will be without Wilson Chandler (hamstring) and DeAndre Jordan (finger) for Monday's contest.

Monday's game marks the third of four meetings between the teams this season. The series is tied 1-1, with the Nets having notched a 109-89 win Dec. 15 and the 76ers having prevailed by a 117-106 score Jan. 15.
