Mavs Notch Third Straight Win
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder, 87-78, at American Airlines Center on Wednesday evening.

The contest got out to a tight start as the Mavericks held a two-point lead after one quarter. The Thunder kept it close through the second, but the Mavericks maintained the advantage and push their lead to seven, by halftime. The Mavs came out strong in the third and pushed their lead up to 19, before the Thunder cut it back to a 14-point game heading into the final frame. The Mavs took complete control in the fourth, where they pushed their lead to a game-high 22 points halfway through the quarter and cruised to the finish for their third straight win.

Kristaps Porzingis came up big for the Mavericks with 19 points and 13 rebounds, in 33 minutes. Tim Hardaway Jr. followed up with 19 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Josh Richardson chipped in 16 points, six rebounds and four steals. The Mavs shot 38 percent from the field, including 8-of-40 from long range.

Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the high-point man for the Thunder, with 15 points on 5-of-15 shooting, in 34 minutes. Darius Bazley totaled 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Ty Jerome added 13 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. The Thunder shot 33 percent from the field, including 9-of-39 from long range.

The Thunder (14-21) will look to bounce back as they take on the Spurs in San Antonio on Wednesday. The Mavericks (18-16) play host to the Spurs on next Wednesday.
