Hornets Destroy Timberwolves, Secure Big Win
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 135-102, at Target Center on Tuesday night.

The Hornets (17-18) keep moving closer to the .500 mark following a dominant win over the Timberwolves (7-29) after a strong performance that saw Charlotte dominate the game from start to finish. The Hornets jumped out to a 36-33 lead following the first quarter and they bolstered that advantage following a 26-23 lead in the second quarter. Charlotte held a six-point lead at the break, but the Hornets pulled away for good following a 36-20 score in the third quarter that closed things out for good. The Hornets didn't back down in the final 12 minutes, though, and they won the final quarter by a 37-26 score in the final 12 minutes of action. In the end, Charlotte dominated from start to finish to come away with the win.

Terry Rozier had 31 points to carry the Hornets offensively -- he added four assists, three rebounds and three steals in 29 minutes. Gordon Hayward ended with 23 points, nine assists and five rebounds. LaMelo Ball ended with 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals, while P.J. Washington had 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals. Malik Monk had 18 points off the bench.

Surprisingly, Ricky Rubio had 20 points to carry the Timberwolves offensively -- he also had nine assists and four rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns registered 16 points and 15 boards but also adding three assists. Anthony Edwards registered 19 points and five rebounds, while Jake Layman had 14 points off the bench. No other Minnesota player scored more than 10 points in what was a poor offensive performance from the Timberwolves.
